~Our Weekend in Austin & Gruene, TX~

This past weekend we went to Austin because Scott had a Genetics Conference there. My mom came too! We had a great time...We stayed at the Wyndham Hotel Thursday and Friday night. My mom and I shopped all day Friday and on Saturday we all went to Zilker Park in Austin. For those of you who don't know, Zilker Park is home to a variety of recreational activities like the Zilker Zephyr miniature train, canoe rides, a huge playground, and our kids' favorite, Barton Springs Pool, a natural spring-fed pool with a year-round average temperature of 68 degrees. Believe it or not, it was only 77 degrees outside and our kids swam in it! Brr...way too cold for me! Saturday evening we traveled to Gruene and ate at one of our favorite restaurants, The Gristmill! Yummy! We stayed there Saturday night and once again the kids swam and had fun playing in the river!
